About NeonBela
NeonBela brings resident reports, municipal updates and local issues together on one map, so everyone can see what is broken, what is being worked on, and what is resolved.
The problem
Unread messages. Information lost.
News about a problem in town is shared in one neighbourhood group, mentioned in another and forwarded to a third, so no single chat holds the whole picture. Meanwhile, a report about a burst pipe can scroll out of sight within an hour, buried under greetings, adverts and unrelated chatter. When someone needs it again, it is hard to say where it was posted, whether anyone responded, or what has happened since.
There is a better way
NeonBela gives each report a category, a map location, a reference number, a clear status and a target time. Everything about an issue stays together in one shared record that never scrolls away under other posts, so anyone can look it up later and see where things stand and what has been done.
What NeonBela does
Choose the issue type, pin the location, and add a photo or note. The report appears on the town map.
Municipal staff acknowledge, assign and update reports from a structured queue, with service targets to guide priorities.
Residents can follow the latest recorded status, receive updates on their own reports and add comments when more detail is needed.
Why the name
The town of Bela Bela takes its name from the hot springs that bubble up in the area. In Tswana and Northern Sotho, Bela-Bela means "the pot that boils".
“Bela” recalls Bela-Bela’s boiling springs: local issues should be able to bubble up instead of being missed. “Neon” suggests light, visibility and a modern approach. Together, the name reflects NeonBela’s goal: bring community problems into the open and make progress visible through to resolution.
